Parallel Worlds: The Door Opens

In this first book of a new sci-fi, fantasy adventure, a young boy, Shawn, and his friend, Laura, are pulled into an exciting, and sometimes dangerous, parallel world.  They are not aware of why, or by whom, they were chosen, or what will be asked of them.  This fast-paced sci-fi, fantasy adventure takes place between the real world and a fictional world.  The characters discover new creatures, and make both friends and lethal enemies as they try to unravel the mysteries of this new world, learn why they were chosen to come there, and what they need to accomplish.
