Introduction Anxiety and fear of dental treatment have been recognized as a source of serious health problems in children. Research among child populations has indicated previously a prevalence of dental fear/anxiety varying from 5.7 to 21% depending on methods and populations surveyed [Klingberg et al., 1994; Wogelius et al., 2003; Klingberg and Broberg, 2007; Lee et al., 2007].
