Publisher Description
Pass the Puck is the true story about the most exciting year for a ‘Squirt’ Level hockey team. The story takes place in Southfield, MI from September 1992 - April 1993. The 10-11 year old boys share their trials and tribulations throughout a season. They learn to support each other, to develop hockey skills, and to ‘jell’ as a team.
You will experience the excitement in the final playoffs and districts.
The team’s coaches and parents show the boys that all kinds of kids can learn to get along, learn the skills of hockey, and learn teamwork. The team feels the support and encouragement from their parents and coaches throughout their ups and downs.
Each player is given a nickname by their coach, and each player gets a chance to shine. “The Emperor”, “The Meditator” and “Devin, the Mighty Duck” are just a few of the coach’s nicknames.
The lessons learned in this story are invaluable. Perseverance is one. Teamwork is another. Moral values are important, too.
The most important lesson is a young boy’s understanding and appreciation of a blessed year of hockey and a job well done.
