However, don’t focus on just the Q&A. Memorization is not our goal and it shouldn’t be yours. I NEVER advocate for someone just learning the answers. I always want you to learn WHY.


Rote memorization will only get you so far and designated pilot examiners are experts at digging deeper. You must have a true understanding of the material the FAA requires you to be familiar with. This book will be your guide through the checkride process. If you use it well, it will ultimately lead you to success.


Nervousness in the face of a checkride is a normal thing. All pilots experience a bit of doubt when confronted with a testing experience. We find it helpful to think of your private pilot checkered as your first flight with a passenger, rather than as a test. All your examiner is looking for is good decision-making, positive control of the aircraft, and a genuine understanding of what you’re doing and why throughout the flight. You’re going to do great!
