Path of Impunity

After killing a criminal in self-defense on a business trip to London, Tag Hastings returns to his native North Carolina only to be confronted with the brutal murder of his nephew. An unexpected opportunity to extract revenge leads him into a downward spiral as he has to determine whether becoming an anonymous vigilante can ever be reconciled with his old life as a husband, father, and friend. 


His unplanned new life is abetted by an attractive FBI agent who leaves her job with a federal agency in frustration, and who is willing, if not anxious, to provide him new high-profile criminal targets that clearly deserve to die. Events unfold across the country with coincidences that become more predetermined until Tag is confronted with how far he'll go to fuel his passion for making things right. He slowly learns that his new silent partner might be his greatest ally or his worst potential exposure.


With each target involving more risk, he has to stay alive and struggle with keeping things together; but it gets complicated juggling death and normality until there doesn't seem to be any more normal. He knows he's hooked on doing this and is quite good at doing what no one else can seem to do. 


When he finally realizes that he can no longer keep this up, Tag finds that stopping isn't as easy as he'd hoped, his marriage is in jeopardy and reconciling what he has done in the past proves to be a lot more challenging than ever getting started.
