-a Love Abroad B&B romance-
Welcome to the Cinque Terre, the jewel of the Italian Coast. In shades of warm gold, apricot, and peach, these remote stone villages face the Mediterranean. Their narrow cobbled streets are car-free. Instead they’re filled with soft sunlight and hope.
Erica Barnett always dreamed of visiting Italy. But she never planned to arrive alone and devastated. Putting her life back together ranks as a distant second to the priority of fixing her heart.
Ridley Claremont III, wealthy son of a Californian vintner and his trophy wife, discovers the shallowness of his life when his parents are killed in a car wreck. Seeking forgetfulness on a motorcycle driving the European backroads, he stumbles into the tiny cliffside town of Corniglia. Vibrant life greets him around every corner: food and flowers, gelato and friendship. And the wine, most especially the wine.
A man who never faced himself and a woman who finally has, meet in the only place they can. Chance or perhaps fate sends them together along the Via dell’Amore, the Path of Love, in Cinque Terre, Italy.
What an adventure ...
What an adventure for Erica and Ridley. Not just the physical adventure in Italy, but finding themselves and what they want out of life and finding each other. I love the town of Corniglia and the people. I love the B&B and the Princess Tower. It was very much like a fairy tale, but in a real life place and time.
At the beginning of the book, Erica asks Ridley about work and his response is he's never worked. By the end of the book, we actually see Ridley working in the vines and loving it. He finally found what he was good at and what he loved in the same task. He was smart enough to know he couldn't do everything with his new vineyard and he brought in two people he trusts and who love him. He is basically doing what his father and grandfather did before him, but in his own way.
I enjoyed this book. I traveled along the adventure with these two and watched their different relationships grow. This is a very different read than what I have read from this author in the past, but it is well worth the time. You too will enjoy the adventure.
