Clever but ... nothing to say
Writing is crisp, clever, and competent, the sort of stuff you find on McSweeneys. But once you finish a story, the only thing you can say is, "Oh, okay, but why did I read that?" It's all style with little in the way of thought or insight, the sort of "literary fiction" that hasn't exactly helped along the genre.

Not very good
I think the author had more fun writing this than I had reading it.
