Publisher Description
Almost every night I stare into the window of cyberspace, like a suitor outside the window of my lover, tossing pebbles to wake and call her to me. The verses, poems, and sentiments within these pages are a year’s worth of pebbles tossed out to the ether in abject hope that they would reach those I love with a profound sense of desire for them to know my unfaltering dedication to their happiness. Sometimes, despair over takes me at the psychic distance between my heart and theirs, as is the conundrum of all who love. It’s our other-ness that is the source of both the joy and the pain that comes with joining and separating again, undulating in the waxing and waning of the waves of circumstance. Each page is a good night wish, and a knock at the window of my lover’s soul.
Customer Reviews
Wonderful debut!
I actually had trouble writing a review for this collection…and for the longest time, I couldn’t quite place WHY--I usually don’t have a problem with descriptors.
…and then I realized…
Each of these poems is its own experience. Each poem deserves its own review. Each verse needs to be pondered over, savored, shared, enjoyed (or not…as some of these will force the reader to surpass their own paradigm boundaries into a less comfortable place)…Each demands to be Felt.
This is a book of Moments.
This is a book for lovers, as so many are--but it is not filled with sad or gag-worthy clichés. The pieces draw the reader in…and are often unpredictable. At times the stanzas will slowly entice and caress the mind into a comfortable calm. At times, the verse will sneak up and deliver a blow to the soul, evoking turbulence and shock.
At times, a single word will echo within the mind, expand, and vibrate off bone.
This book is a journey.
...and I loved every word.
