Publisher Description

Far away from our land, on the other side of the world, lies a group of islands which form the kingdom of Japan. The word "Japan" means the "Land of the Rising Sun", and it is certainly a good name for a country of the Far East, the land of sunrise.

Awesome insights

As an American born and raised in Japan, I really enjoyed reading this book. It's fascinating to read of the differences in culture from modern day Japan, sometimes inducing a "is this really Japan he's talking about?" However, on the other hand some things mentioned in this book haven't changed in the slightest. Overall, this book is written very simply, on a reading level even most children could enjoy, if interested in the subject.
