Penalty Box is the prequel book in the Straight No Chaser series. Jackson and Savannah have a wild past of always wanting more, but never lasting together. Now Savannah is back in town with her daughter, but danger stalks their every move. Will Jackson be able to keep his girls safe, no matter the cost, or will they all pay the ultimate price?

Oh wow, this book starts off quick and heavy and will leave you on the edge of your seat! Savannah and Jackson have a very emotional and tough history, but also have so much to overcome in order to find a happy future. One thing that I loved about Savannah is that she refused to give up. No matter what, she was determined to keep her daughter safe, and I liked that once she decided to stay, nothing would change her mind. Jackson found himself while taking care of the skating rink, held back a bit due to his past, but Savannah could always see through his walls. I liked them together. I liked how passionate they were for each other, and knew darkness so they could appreciate their light. I think one thing I didn’t love about this book was how it went from zero to one hundred so drastically. It is a novella, so it will move quickly, but the ending seriously shocked me how there were no other options. But all in all, I liked this book! I’m very excited to see where the future of this couple and series will go, too!

Quick little novella that gives so much. Some suspense, little snippet of what’s to come in this series and plenty of steam! Jackson and Savannah have a history but time has not dimmed their flames. When Savannah’s baggage follows her home, Jackson becomes the savior. This easily could have been a full length book but the quick introduction to this series is enough to have me coming back for more!
