Despite the current unsolved murder, Anna and her aunt Pru are focused on another Glenn sister, Josie, who disappeared after attending a funeral there many years ago. When Anna learns Josie wore a family heirloom Aunt Pru wishes to have back, Anna attempts to search for clues at Baycourt.
Just as she finds a clue that suggests Josie's locket might have gone missing at the hall, another reception begins. Hopefully, nothing further puts anyone in peril, or there's no chance of saving Baycourt Hall—and Anna won't be able to solve the mystery buried in her family history.

Fun cozy mystery
The characters in this were likeable and interesting.
Well written with an interesting story arc
I read this over several days & that might be why I sometimes confused characters and had to read the resolution of the case over again. I did enjoy the writing style.
Aubrey Elle’s Peril at the Party
Anna Glenn has returned home to reside with
her Aunt Pru while working at Baycourt Reception
Hall. While the hall is in need of a lot of repairs due
to poor management, the owner and her
grandson are trying to keep it going to refurbish it.
The hall was also the place where Anna’s Aunt
Josie disappeared from after attending a funeral
there many years ago. Maybe she could find a clue
about the disappearance.
There is a wedding and reception to take place for the
Lane-Diaz’s. The groom’s father is totally against
this marriage but it goes forward. What could upset
the reception? How about the murder of Father Asher,
the officiant in the foyer?
A well written murder mystery with a cast of artfully
drawn up characters. All the characters were well
developed, lively, colorful and kept the reader
entertained throughout the whole book.
I really enjoyed meeting all the characters in this
fast paced, page turner.
