Hairstylist Marla Shore has a bad hair day when one of her clients dies in the salon’s shampoo chair. As if that’s not enough, handsome Detective Vail accuses her of poisoning the woman’s coffee creamer. Grumpy Bertha Kravitz might not have been Marla’s favorite customer, but she’s no killer. It’s up to her to unmask the real culprit to salvage her reputation.


Combing the woman’s privileged world for clues, Marla uncovers a snarled web of suspects. There's the resentful son excluded from his mother's will, a shady business partner with secrets, and a niece who inherits a substantial fortune. But Marla might have to look closer to home, especially when her janitor vanishes without a trace and she discovers one of her stylists is living a lavish lifestyle.
