Amazing tour of the Incan Realm, Past and Present
The latest by writer and photographer David C Phillips is a breathtaking tour of the Incan monuments in and around Cuzco and the nearby Sacred Valley. As he did in his book "Venice, Images and Reflections", Mr. Phillips treats us to a visually rich array of colors, textures, astounding architecture and quiet moments, in both photographs and video clips, which capture the sense of place of this vibrant area.
Hiking far above the main ruins of Machu Picchu, he captured the moment of sunrise over the Incan city in all its wonder and magic. Panoramas give a sweeping bird's eye view of the monument and its lush vegetation.
For all the stunning images of Incan architecture, it's the images of the people that are most delightful, from a child's joyful dance in traditional garments to a weaver's proud presentation of exquisite textiles.
No quick overview of the oft seen highlights of the Incan realm, this is a lovingly in-depth portrayal to be savored and enjoyed again and again.

Visually stunning and Inspiring
As a Peruvian who has traveled many times to Cusco and surrounding areas through the years, I think the author and photographer, David C Phillips has deeply captured the essence of the people, the land, the culture. The Andean music accompanying the video of stunning photographs is moving and reminds me of my country. I recommend it to anyone who loves to travel, to learn, to dream.
