It’s good. I’m just mad

She made some terrible decisions all in the name of avoiding or running away from the exact “place” she ended up being in. Maybe it took all of that for her to finally accept the truth but I’m still mad about it (that’s the only reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5).

Petals on the wind

This was better than the first one

A suspenseful sequel to a major horror classic!

I found Flowers in the Attic to be a great read when I finally got around to reading it YEARS after I had seen the 1987 movie. I already knew there were sequels, but the only ones I was aware of at the time were Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and a prequel called Garden of Shadows. These are also the only other books I’ve read by V.C. Andrews. And they’re the only ones I ever WILL read. I DO recommend the series, though, even if, like me, you only read these books. Petals on the Wind does a great job of kicking off V.C. Andrews’ efforts to continue the story with its chilling plot about Cathy’s growing obsession with revenge. This book features suspense, terror, drama, and romance, plus a truly gratifying conclusion for fans of the first book. Yes, I highly recommend it! Even if you like Lifetime’s chilling movie franchise, including the suspenseful adaptation of this book, I still really found the book to be much better, even though the movie was very faithful. Read it! You’ll like it!
