The war was over long ago, but the fight for their humanity is just beginning.
Dr. Kyra Winters certainly never meant for her work to be used for anything evil even though that’s exactly what happened. Her studies in cyber conversions and genetic engineering were supposed to make the world a better place. The best soldiers got converted into Cyborgs to fight a World War no one wanted to remember. Ten long years have passed since world peace was declared.
Enslaved by their programming, the Cyborgs have no idea that the war they signed up to fight is over. Or that a fight for their humanity is just beginning. If the current world powers had any proof of her reversal experiments, Kyra would be killed for even trying to free them.
She’s already lost two Cyborgs due to her failures. Are Peyton 313’s chances any better? Having bought herself one last chance to atone, failure is not an option Kyra can even consider. The fate of all cybernetic humans rests on her successfully restoring the cyborg who was once Marine Captain Peyton Elliott.
Worst epic fail of her scientific career? Falling for a cyborg she helped create.
ABOUT THIS SERIES - Set in the future, this science fiction action and adventure novel explores military boundaries in a tale of created cyborgs and genetic engineering. It contains strong elements of romance for both paranormal romance and science fiction romance fans. It’s set in a futuristic urban environment.
This SciFi Romance rules!
This SciFi from 2400 seems so real. The tech speak so possible. Peyton is a true soldier yet a perfect man. Kyra is a scientist first, at least in the beginning. Peyton brings out the woman in her.
The story is well written and so plausible. You root for the characters. You feel their pain.
5 Brit shiny stars!
I liked the characters in this book and am looking forward to reading about the restoration of the rest of the team.
How Far is too far??
As a fan of both Donna McDonald and sci-fi, I was thrilled to see she was writing another series! I promptly starting reading the moment I got the book and was not let down. One of the things I love the most about Donna's books is that the leading lady is usually a very strong independent woman. Dr. Kyra is just that! She has a conscience and the gall to follow it! In this book, the idea of just how far should science goes is explored. I adore her conviction in making things right for Peyton. I fell in love with Peyton and his reactions to her! I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
