Philadelphians has fictitious stories and stories based on a true story. All of them reveal to the reader an original look at Philadelphia through the eyes of a single author, Tony DePaul, an author who has spent the bulk of his life in the city. He went away for grad school to Arkansas but came back. His Philly comes through loud and clear. This is why it is also appropriate to place the art of celebrated artist Jared Owens on the cover, another artist who appreciates all the Philadelphia has to offer. It is their place, for sure. Philadelphians is a fourteen story literary mural capturing the City's culture, diversity, history, socio-political mores through the struggles, triumphs and changes in its people.

Like the Mural Philaguernica by Jared Owens, the City lives in and through its people, tough, streetwise, kind and combative.

Philadelphians can be defeated but not destroyed.
