Excellent resource for the beginner!
I recently bought this book when I took a course from the author, Ross Ramsay, at Berklee College of Music online. I’m 42 years old, and had made a few previous attempts to learn how to play the piano that weren’t very productive. This book is an excellent reference for chords, scales, concepts, etc, and is very well organized for quick lookup or structured lessons. Most importantly, you’ll get out of it exactly what you put into it. Follow the suggested practice schedule and put the time in, and it’ll all eventually start to click. It took me a dozen hours over a few weeks before my brain would allow my hands operate separately from one another, but when I hit that milestone, I felt it! Once you hit those milestones, they inspire you to keep going, and it’s all downhill from there! As a beginner, this was the book that helped to finally get me over some of the mental hurdles that made learning piano seem more difficult than it actually is.
