Pierced by a Sword

I first read this book 25 years ago and I couldn’t put it down then or now. Beautifully written, a story that needs to be told. Buy them for yourself and definitely for others. For many others. Our Mother needs you.

As a Catholic priest I do a lot of reading. The preponderance of the reading I do is all nonfiction. I wasn't quite sure what I would get out of a fictional work. But this book exceeded my expectations. It took all of the theology, in Marian dogma, modern apparitions, and told a story where the characters help you remember all that is going on. Please read this book it is by no means a penance. God bless you.

I found this book on break while serving in the Navy back in 1998. Being Protestant at the time I picked it up and read the back. I was intrigued but disturbed that it was Catholic. I threw it back on the table and walked away. Eventually, after hours of failing to forget about it, I realized that God was putting on my heart to read the book...I did and I never looked back. This was in the early days of the internet when Catholicity (Where you can order hard copies of each of these for a minor donation) was new. I was desperate to read the other two so I found the site and emailed the author, who promptly emailed me back...and then I received the other two. They not only moved me to tears, but radically changed my life. I converted to Catholicism while stationed there and have had the honor of baptizing my youngest son into the faith this year. Read these books. Give them a chance. They'll inspire you. They did me...God bless you Budd.
