Publisher Description
What became of Pinocchio after his beloved fairy transformed him into a real boy? Was he a comfort to his father? Did his schoolmates accept him as one of their own? Were his days of mischief and disobedience behind him?
Hardly!
Scott Mignola’s marvelously insane, true-to-the-original sequel picks up where Carlo Collodi’s 1883 masterpiece THE ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO left off, following reckless Pinocchio through enchanted woods, a treacherous desert, and into the afterlife itself as he seeks a lost fortune and the forgiveness of his beloved fairy, who he fears may be dying of disappointment on his account. Some favorite characters return, along with a parade of new ones, including a monstrous crab, a beautiful enchantress who collects lost children, and a man with a bull’s head who perhaps sums it up best: “By the Emperor’s whiskers, I swear I have never seen such a thing.”
This companion volume to THE ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO features cover and title plate art by internationally acclaimed Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
Customer Reviews
Ghost written by Collodi?
I read this book in succession after reading Pinocchio for the first time. Both wonderful stories that everyone should read. Scott Mignola did a amazing job keeping the tone, wording, and concepts from the original story in the sequel. The whole time I read it I wondered, if I didn't know it wasn't written Carlo Collodi, would I have been able to tell it wasn't him?
