I prefer love not hate.
I know Ree lives in Oklahoma, but her style of cooking is like a lot of southern people eat. You may like to believe that we should all eat wheat grass and drink glacier water. I like to live in a little something called reality. Considering there are more people in this country obese than not. I would like to believe that I'd rather eat my calories at my own stove than at the fast food window. Ree doesn't tell you to eat this for every meal so the other review that says her cooking should come with a health warning. I truly hope that people can decide for themselves what they like to eat. If that is wheatgrass I promise I won't judge you and hope that you don't judge me while I eat my fried chicken..and the fried skin is my favorite part.. Shhhhh :)..sorry for my soapbox sermon. Personally this is my second cook book of her's and High Heels To Tractor Wheels I highly recommend ..Keep cook in' Ree.. Never mind the haters..Love my fat redneck butt..
Do you work at an intense physical job every single day? If not, then....
If not, then...this book is not for you. She is a kinder gentler version of Paula Deen. Her food is full of fat and calories in all forms. And that's OK, if you work on a ranch all day. If not, then don't bother with this book or any of the Pioneer Woman's offerings. Her book needs a health warning.
