Beautiful and tightly written!
This is simply a beautiful and tightly written story!
Power In a Young Son’s Voice
This Book was a fast and quick read for me. The words that Omari was expressing were tearful and brought pain to both my heart and soul. Nya was being a mother trying to figure what what is motherhood by questioning her own actions on raising her son. Misinterpreting that she was not out of reach that her son needed love and hope and reason on being human and just to be a teenager growing up in a world he could not control but that violence is most definitely not the answer. The father Xavier wanted to use violence of what Omari was already seeing and to achieve discipline by using force and abuse which isn’t being a Father.
The scenes and flashbacks and the poetry in the background in the play was great!
A conundrum
Good concept, but too much playing into what people want at this time. Gives light to something not shown in plays as of what I know but I don’t know much about any plays. Plays into stereotypes when you can tell the play has a “break the mold” type of tone Could be written MUCH better, or could even have a twist. Nothing really special, especially writing wise. It could be performed very well but what I read was a waste of part of my day.
