Great book!

Plain Pursuit is Beth Wiseman's inspiring story of a Carley, a Houston reporter, who is working through grief over painful losses, and her interactions with an Amish family. One of the family members has been shunned, and is seeking to reconnect with his family - and yet without rejoining their faith system and lifestyle. Will Carley find the healing and peace she is seeking? Will she and Noah become good friends or more? Will the family reconcile with their shunned relative? I will not give away spoilers because I want you to read this great book for yourself! In presenting the issue of shunning, Wiseman shows that shunning is an important facet of the Amish faith when it is felt to be necessary, and that it is a complicated issue. She does an excellent job of treating both sides fairly, and the medical details were informative yet not unnecessarily so.
