Plantation Echoes

Elliott Blaine Henderson was a slave plantation worker in Ohio in the late 19th century. This book is a collection of his poems that describe and give the feel of his daily life and his thoughts on the plantation. The book has an introduction by E. G. Burkham, Editor of the Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, Ohio, who wrote the following, “He who correctly interprets the spirit of his race serves a good cause, and it is believed that Mr Henderson will be found to have succeeded in his undertaking to make his people better and more widely understood.”
