Publisher Description
International Bestselling Author Tamsyn Bester bring you the second book in her Playing Pretend Series.
Kadence Kavanagh has spent the last two years trying to rebuild her life. When a job opportunity presents itself, she can’t say no, even if it’s with the man who’s life was ruined by her father’s indiscretion. It’s been years since she last saw Caleb Callahan, and she’s not even sure he remembers her, but she’s determined to give herself a clean slate no matter who she has to work for.
In the unlikeliest of circumstances, Caleb becomes her savior – if somewhat reluctantly - and she discovers that the man she’s read about in the gossip columns is nothing more than a smoke screen. Kadence knows that keeping her distance is for the best, no matter how difficult, but when Caleb proposes the unthinkable, she finds herself caught between what’s real, and what she wishes was real.
Caleb and Kadence lose themselves in a lie, and when reality comes knocking, they realize that all they were doing was playing pretend…

Playing Pretend
This was my first book by Tamsyn and I really enjoyed it. Kadence takes a job working for the company Caleb owns. She doesn’t work directly for him so she thinks so won’t see him. Boy is she WRONG! Kadence and Caleb share history in more ways than one. He was once the boy that she had feelings for, but also he is now the man who holds a grudge against her father. How bad can things really get?
Caleb is not the boy that she remembers all those years ago; oh no he is now a man… and a sexy as sin man he is. Caleb knows exactly who Kadence is … how can he ever forget? But what the media says is one thing and Caleb isn’t that man. So Kadence agrees to help him, but how much is actually pretend.
Kadence and Caleb both find themselves lost in each other. But Caleb is holding some secrets that just might rip them apart. Things aren’t as easy as Kadence hopes and playing pretend might now be the only thing Caleb is playing. The book is a rocky emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish. Caleb made me mad a few times, but Kadence did too. At times, I felt things were a bit to rushed and some things not explained enough, but overall it was a good read.
