Postcards from the Pound

Postcards from the Pound introduces Maggie, a fluffy yellow dog, who discovers much to her dismay, that she is very different from her purebred friends. Even though she loves the family that adopted her, she longs to find her real family. She enlists the help of her best friend, Dexter, and together they journey to the animal shelter where Maggie learns that she is not so different from her canine friends after all.

Vicki Levering weaves a warm and happy story about adoption that helps children understand that "It makes no difference what breed we are or where we come from. We are all special...we are all unique...and yet we are all the same."
