Publisher Description
Based on a true story. POSTMODERNVENUS is the first novel in a trilogy—an unfolding saga that immerses readers in the labyrinth of San Francisco’s broken justice system.
To navigate it, Rose Visjonær turns to government codes, case law, and philosophy—calculating each move like a queen on a chessboard. With unwavering precision, she decodes stratagems veiled as order and outmaneuvers those who mistake her for a pawn.
“Halls of Justice painted green—money talking.”
Metallica, San Francisco's immortal metal vanguard
In this city, wealth reigns and truth is buried six feet deep. What begins as a fact-finding mission pulls her deeper into the machinery of power—a labyrinthine chess match. For Rose, justice lies not only in victory—but in confronting the system that controls the narrative—its own fiction d'État.
Government immunity does not apply when the law imposes a nondiscretionary duty under Government Code §815.6.
A story of virtue. Of power. And ultio tenetur a veritate.
Customer Reviews
A survivor of the California justice system makes her own justice.
If you are looking for a story of personal transformation in the context of modern institutional abuse of authority you have found your novel! This book takes the reader along on a journey through betrayal and atrocity into discovery and reclamation of the soul. It is well paced and holds back nothing. It is a raw, authentic experience of a talented young woman unveiling the facade of impartiality and exposing the corrupt standards of accountability in government. This book also features the stunning locations of San Francisco and incisive descriptions of the characters. I look forward to the next novel by Whitney Petersen
