Predatory Hunger

Maeve was viewed with suspicion and envy because her garden yielded an abundance that supplied her needs and allowed her something to trade, as well. So, when she heard the rumblings of anger that told her a mob was headed in her direction, she knew at once that she was the target and she ran for her life.

Straight into the arms of a demon breed, the Hawkin, Azrael.

It was no coincidence that Azrael was at hand, however. He had already marked the woman to claim her as his own. The 'luck' as far as he could see was that the mob had chased her onto the lands that belonged to the beasts of the labyrinth.
