Prelude
Publisher Description
Prelude is a fiction that pretends to be nonfiction authored by a fictional author/artist, The Reverend Professor Henrietta A.. Set in the present day, it tells a dramatic story that may actually be coming true for everyone. In prose and some verse, interwoven with 100+ illustrations—art, photography, and several videos—it envisions a technology that will turn our lives inside out: tiny drones the size of mosquitoes. In the story, such devices are coming into everyone’s hands—individuals', businesses', governments’, etc. We'll send them wherever we want, and use them to see and hear what's there. And they'll broadcast everywhere; any of us will be able to tune in to anyone else’s. Yikes!
Prelude imagines all that. It describes the tiny drones' arrival, and explores the consequences. And what consequences they are! Our senses of our selves, society, civilization, and world will be transformed. Our privacy, secrecy, intimacy, security, family life, community, government, commerce, jobs, education, entertainment, culture—all will change dramatically.
Prelude is the introductory volume of the Squeezeshot Saga, a creation of author/artist Marcus Parsons. The saga is available at the Squeezeshot.org website and, much of it, at this store.
