The ability to speak effectively to small or large audiences is a vital competency for managers and leaders; yet it is an often missing competency in many businesses and teams.

Why do we need presentation skills?

A lack of effective presentation skills (public speaking) will seriously harm your career prospects. It doesn’t matter whether you have the most qualifications or experience, or whether you are starting out in a company or are the CEO; you will constantly be judged on your ability to present ideas in way that engages the audience. Your audience could be a small group of people you know or a large group of strangers, but the principles of excellent presentations remain the same.

Remember, as we move up through an organisation, we are paid less for what we do an more for what we influence others to do. Speaking in public is a core competency for influence.

As a Certified Professional Speaker, I have spoken to thousands of people over the years and experienced firsthand what to do (and what not to do) with an audience. As an executive coach, I have trained and coached hundreds of tongue-tied managers to connect with their audience and deliver an effective and engaging message.
