Priceless

Based on true events in the Washington, DC area, Priceless is a classic story of urban African American culture during the 1980’s, 1990’s, and 2000’s. The story exposes topics concerning religion, war, greed, power, love, relationships HIV, promiscuity, drug distribution, drug abuse, violence, homosexuals, life-long failures, and redemption. The main character, Joy, is a party girl who falls in love with a ruthless drug dealer named Shawn, and they conceive a child named Sasha. However, Joy becomes a single parent after Shawn’s denial and cruelty. Twenty years later, Sasha repeats Joy’s actions by falling in love with a hustler named Rome, which causes a strain in Joy and Sasha’s relationship. Sasha learns of Rome’s secrets and questions his love as her close girlfriends undergo extreme situations because of their association with other hustlers of the city. Sasha also counsels her childhood friend Marcus, who reveals he is gay and faces emotional and psychological disadvantages. Spanning over three decades, the story is controversial, edgy, and priceless.
