Prickles

Prickles is a simple yet powerful illustrated story about a cactus who falls in love with a human girl. Wanting to fit in, he shaves off his prickles—only to face an unexpected and heartbreaking fate. Originally created as a risograph zine in 2017, Prickles has been reimagined as an e-book, preserving its minimal text and expressive drawings to tell a quiet but thought-provoking tale of identity, self-acceptance, and the cost of changing for others.

This book is created by award-winning author and illustrator Rosa Chang, best known for her picture book My Indigo World, which is also available on Apple Books.
