Self-Help Book for Romance Detox
“Prince Charming Opens Doors, The Buffoon Opens Legs” is a self-help book that uses hearty doses of humor and satire to help men rid themselves of romantic clichés that may be holding them back and start to succeed with women. Or, as the author calls it, renouncing all attempts to be a “Prince Charming” and embrace life as a “Buffoon.”
The book’s advice covers how women can be categorized by alcoholic beverages (champagne diva, female martini); how to keep the ex from being a threat by making her focus on why the relationship ended; the seven As that can lead to a first kiss; and many more. There are thirty short chapters of advice, meant to be read one a day to “detox” the reader from his own determination that being unabashedly romantic is what all women want.
The author’s writing is funny, especially some of his observations on female habits—such as the role of the public bathroom—and it swings between sharply pointed and more gentle, from true nuggets of advice to some that’s a bit more satirical. I’d recommend it to readers who are willing to laugh a little at the dating game, while at the same time approaching it from a different angle and rethinking some “humanly irrational truths,” as the author puts it.

This book is not only hilarious but gives men fantastic advice about the world of dating. Lucando Divina is spot on in how many of us women react in certain situations with men. I love his wit, humor, and different tips in each chapter. Since I’m a woman, I can’t apply this advice to my personal dating. BUT! I have many guy friends who would love a copy of this book for their collection. Also I’d like to see them use the different advice.
I am definitely going to be reading this over and over again. Ladies, this book also lets you know the good, the bad, and the ugly of us women in how we act. Let’s learn from this book too!
