Prison Planet

On a harsh Mars outpost, Chief Consul Roberds is forced into a desperate choice when a sick girl and an injured man need immediate help and the only chance is a dangerous surface rocket bound for Earth. He clashes with Rat, a mysterious Centaurian pilot burdened by a notorious past and suspected of disgrace, yet Rat's calm confidence and strange competence make him impossible to dismiss. As Nurse Gray learns the stakes, the mission becomes a race against death, law, and the unforgiving realities of the frontier. What follows is a brutal, tense flight through space and fear. Rat strips the ship for survival, improvises rescues, and launches into the void with wounded passengers, only for the crew to endure thirst, heat, nausea, and the madness of cramped confinement. His alien logic, quick thinking, and hidden purpose gradually reveal a man far more honorable than his reputation suggests. As the journey nears its end, Rat makes one last audacious gamble, turning the ocean into a braking field for a wild landing that may save the others at the cost of himself. In the end, this science-fiction rescue story becomes a powerful tale of sacrifice, courage, and misunderstood heroism.
