Some things were worth the punishment. Garin was one.
When I opened my eyes, I was in a cell, my body covered in bruises.
Not a jail.
I’d been kidnapped and imprisoned.
I wasn’t alone. I shared the cell with Garin Woods, the man I’d loved since I was a kid.
The man I couldn’t be with because of the secret. A man who would kill me if he found out what that secret was.
Someone wanted to torture me.
One of us deserved it.
It wasn’t Garin.
God this book needed trigger warnings. I can’t even begin to explain but rape, torture, murder and drugs to start off with and all of them in vivid detail. Super unsettling and uncomfortable. Lots of depictions of rape and torture and then you come to find out (spoiler) that the main guy, Kyles best friend and “love” interest actually set up this whole thing to murder her but instead raped her and lied to her and then told her she was in a coma so that the whole thing was a dream when it wasn’t.....
