Great for a LAMP guy stuck doing SP

I’ve been doing LAMP development forever and recently got tasked with implementing a full SharePoint 2013 intranet. I’ve found that this book (and CBTNuggets for some of the more sysadmin stuff) provided me everything I needed. Unlike other solutions, you usually have to buy your way into learning Microsoft Products so you might as well stop trying to fight it and at least buy a book...

One reason this book really gets a thumbs up in my eye is because it doesn’t pretend we all live and work in a Microsoft stack. I ASSUMED your web designer was running on a MacBook Pro under OS X, and specifically makes effort to show you how to support iOS devices.

I initially read through this book on my Kindle Paperwhite but the TOC links are hit-or-miss in that version. This is not the case with the iBooks version and it certainly makes it easier to find a specific section when you’re using the book as a reference.
