This commemorative volume details the destruction of another New England town during King Philip's War and the various raids and settlement burnings that occurred. Groton, Massachusetts was attacked and burned on March 13, 1676, and the ceremony included here was in remembrance of both that occasion and of the signing of the Declaration of Independence one hundred years earlier.
