Professor Bullivant Rhodes Peculiar Zoo

Synopsis.

A brilliant research scientist Professor Gudrun Bullivant Rhodes suffers a devastating psychological blow while putting the final touches to a lifetimes study into the Giant Peruvian Anteater. Suffering a massive breakdown he finally recovers and successfully sues the University for a fortune which he uses impulsively (or perhaps unwisely) to purchase a rundown privately owned zoo on the fringe of the city. 

On inspection he finds that few of the quality animals are left after the previous crooked owner had used the place as a tax deduction sold everything that was worth anything. Then the liquidators have stripped the place bare to recover debts. They unload everything except for the remaining animals which were considered too weird to be worth the cost of feeding them.  However the animals remaining all have one amazing characteristic, they are almost all physical oddballs and those that aren’t have weird behavioural habits. 

How can the dear old Prof turn this zoo of misfits around to be even self-sustaining, and could he even dream of making a profit? The buildings as well as the animals are rundown, dusty and a little past their use by dates as are most of the remaining staff and there are no visitors anymore anyway. The redirection of the major highway that brought them here saw to that. The future looks grim.

Just when he thought all was lost he wakes one morning to find the dynamic woman who will become his wife has cycled by accident into his life and from there on things begin to take a mainly upward curve.  


Under her direction and marketing smarts the Zoo takes off as a must see attraction. Hilarious and chaotic events, weird and wonderful staff all add to the mystery and intrigue of the Zoo. 

 The Prof ultimately discovers an amazing secret about his own ancestors and the powerful genes he has inherited and the truth behind the origins and development of Australia’s unique weird and wonderful animals and finds he owns Paradise.
