Carrie Ann Ryan’s Prowled Darkness is an excellent conclusion to the Dante's Circle Series. Lion shifter and next in line for the throne, Malik Ward, left the woman he loved thinking she was human, and that they were unable to be together. Eliana Sawyer was lightning-struck, a human hit by lightning, which will trigger her dormant supernatural DNA once claimed by her mate. The man she loves and thought was human left her before she could tell him that she was pregnant. This contemporary PNR is suitable for adults.
Prowled Darkness begins with Malik’s return to Dante’s circle after discovering that Eliana is lightning-struck. From the first page, the story is attention-grabbing and exciting. I love how Eliana’s friends and their mates all looked out for her when she was on her own. They are very protective of her and do not want to see her hurt. I enjoyed the plot. It moved fast and was gripping. A lot of things happened in a short amount of time. I love which supernatural being Eliana winded up being. It was very appropriate. I like Malik. He was in a difficult position. The two truly love each other and are a great couple. Malik’s aunt and uncle make good antagonist. They want the throne that rightfully belongs to Malik. I enjoyed the ending. It was smart to have the last scene at Dante’s Circle. It concluded the series well.

Of all the Dante Circle series, Prowled Darkness was my least favorite. It seemed rushed and it left a lot of feelings and story out. Eliana and Malik were cheated of their romance. I was disappointed. I love all the others in the series. They were like a rich desert, satisfying. Prowled Darkness was like a Fig Newton, quickly finished and easily forgotten.
Thank you for this series. It has kept me going from book to book and waiting on the next book lol. Awesome rap up of the lightening struck.
Received this ARC free for an honest review. At the start of the story, it left me wondering at the direction the author, Carrie Ann Ryan, was taking me as it was written in a new direction than the previous books in the series. The more you read, the better it starts to unravel. This story will take you through your emotions... anger, frustration, heart break, and she still keeps you guessing, even at it's conclusion. This is by far the best in that Eliana has absolutely no doubt about her match in the end. Prowled Darkness seems to have the series come full circle... pun intended. Get the series, you will love the stories and characters!
