Publisher Description

PURSUING CHRIST. CREATING ART. is written for people who are living in the intersection of the Christian faith, and the creation of art. By their nature, artists look at a life of faith differently, and that unique journey warrants an exploration of what it means to be a Christ-follower and an artist. The book intentionally veers away from tips and techniques and formulas, while concentrating on the journey, the mystery, and the heart.

Inspirational

This is without a doubt a must read for not only Christian creatives, but I believe that it also a must read for anyone in any type of ministry position. Gary Molander's insight in the area where Christ and creativity intersect is truly inspiring and eye opening. You will be encouraged and challenged. You will see your mission, your purpose from a new vantage point and know you are not alone. We were created in the image of the Creator, therefore go and be creative.

LOVE.

So, I bought this book in an attempt to overcome. I’ve always created and enjoyed doing so. However, this book helps you peel layers off of the inner artist who has attempted life without truly understanding their purpose. I love it so much. The author helped me to understand I’m truly an artist and that is why I’m “wired up differently” from the average person. Buy. Read. Enjoy. Read again. I will.

Ministered to me greatly like glasses I never knew I needed.

Over the last 2-years I've struggled to be an artist and musician in the church with the title of "Pastor". After being asked to leave a church and now trying to lead on the weekends while holding a full-time job outside of ministry, this book came at the exact time I needed it.

Gary nailed me to the wall: I am an artist and I am a Christ follower. When I encounter God I want to write music, create in Photoshop or animate something in After Effects. I can't help it. God moves me to create.

Gary has reminded me I feel more deeply than most and can take every word you say about that stain on my old Converse way too personally. So, leave my shoes alone. I love them.

Gary has reminded me I'm not alone. "Dream Squashers" aren't the only leaders in the world. And all the experts on leadership writing books may not really know how to see. There are artists out there who can make great art and truly and genuinely love Christ.

Gary taught me to be courageous in the face of my greatest fear: the possibility of not ever going back to full-time ministry. And that I'll be okay if that were to happen. Oh, and that regardless, I'll still retain that obsession to create in response to being overwhelmed by God.

I am an artist. I am pursuing Christ.

Thank you Gary, for sharing and ministering in this time in my life.
