Publisher Description
Three-quarters of your QCE Physical Education result is earned at school, in two project folios (IA1 and IA3) and an investigation report (IA2). The last quarter is one external examination on Unit 4 only. This guide prepares you for all four assessments.
You may not take a calculator into the Physical Education exam, and there is no formula book or data booklet. So every exam-style question in this book can be done with pen, paper and quick mental arithmetic, and the book shows you how. Each practice question is tagged as exam-style or IA-style, so your final revision stays on Unit 4, the only unit the exam can reach.
Inside this guide:
- Tactical awareness and ethics in physical activity (Unit 3), and energy, fitness and training in physical activity (Unit 4), taught and practised
- Energy systems, fitness testing, training principles and methods, periodisation and recovery, and how the body responds to training
- A toolkit chapter on data, folio and report writing, and the cognitive verbs
- IA1, IA2 and IA3, each with its own chapter: what each criterion rewards, plus a worked folio or report with annotated High-Scoring Response excerpts
- A What's Changed chapter, including the new physiological responses to training, the principle of reversibility, the shorter perusal time and the reworked IA tasks
- Try It tasks and practice questions, each with a worked answer
- Annotated High-Scoring Responses that show exactly where the marks are earned
- Full-length practice external assessments with worked solutions
- A glossary of the terms you need
Plain, accessible English throughout, with every technical term explained where it first appears. Examples are set across Queensland, from a Bundaberg basketball court to Townsville and Cairns. Every question and worked solution was written for this book.
Written to the current QCAA Physical Education syllabus, for any student whose course follows it.
