Quantum Crush

The world might be ending. In a few decades.

An asteroid named Wormwood is headed for Earth, and the military has Time Force working on the whole time-travel-to-save-humanity thing. Jessica Sandoval has zero control over any of it.

What she does have is a plan: graduate, start pre-med at UF, keep Jesus first, and maybe give Kyle Evans (Bible Club president, future doctor, objectively excellent husband material) a chance.

The plan does not include falling for David Michaels.

David is her best friend, next-door neighbor, and the boy her family practically adopted five years ago. He can fix anything with an engine, throw a punch a little too well, and has half of Tampa High convinced he's dangerous. Jess knows better.

Unfortunately, he's also gorgeous.

And when David's relationship with his girlfriend ends, the comfortable rules of their friendship start falling apart with it.

Suddenly, five years of just friends are becoming something neither of them can pretend isn't there. Between first dates, jealous exes, an aggressively involved Cuban family, Bible Club drama, and David's alarming ability to make Jess reconsider every physical boundary she's ever drawn, her carefully planned senior year is going spectacularly off-script.

Then the holo-av on Jess's new phone starts acting strange. He didn't hatch from a cute hologram egg like everyone else's. He's blue, built like Mr. Universe, and claims to be Triton, son of Poseidon.

Except he doesn't talk like a myth. He talks like he was there. Eons ago.

Worse, he talks to Jess like they have history. And he keeps calling her my queen.

Falling for her best friend was supposed to be the dangerous part.

Jess is about to discover that something sinister has been waiting for her far longer than David has—and it has no intention of letting her go.
