Dropping out of subspace into the wrong galactic sector, Sethran Kada wakes with a pounding headache and an extraordinary alien aboard his ship. She claims her people — a newly evolved species emerging from subspace — are being abducted by rebel factions and Commonwealth operatives alike.
When contact with her kind leaves pilots dead or mentally shattered, the Governors fear an imminent invasion engineered by their enemies.
Pursued by Air Command, Seth heads deep into rebel-controlled territory to recover the stolen entities before their abilities can be weaponized. But the mission becomes dangerously personal when his mysterious passenger begins transforming his mind — and possibly his future.
What begins as a rescue mission quickly turns into a fight for survival for all of them.

Interesting read
The story line was an interesting one that was leading to the next two books
At times the thought line was hard to follow as it switched from one character to another with a lot of pronouns used it took a lot longer to read as you had to go back and pick up the story line
One could always stop at the end of book one and it would be a good story
Started out good
I like the idea of aliens I’m getting stuck here but can only existing in someone’s consciousness. It was interesting. Then the author started giving the alien superpowers not to mention virtual reality sex. The aliens could now disable ships during their energy reserves dissipate lasers, kill people energy zaps hack through any computer using nothing but a calm mood connection which if anybody knows anything about security would not be connected computer is related to something critical. Yeah I’m just gonna put my ships engines reactors shields guns all the same network that everybody’s calm traffic and porn searches are on. Doesn’t happen in our military wouldn’t happen in theirs. So it gets kind of boring to read when every scrape is simply fixed by super alien magic powers.
Challenging read
Interesting story about the way some species evolve. Decent to read with very interesting ideas about interspecies relationships. I’m looking forward to reading more of these books.
