In a lush kingdom overflowing with corn, cacao, potatoes, and chia, twin sister and brother Ixque and Hunahpu are born under a powerful omen. Unknown to them, the ancient spirit gods have marked the twins as the future guardians of their people's prosperity.

Ixque doesn't believe she and Hunahpu are the Hero Twins of Palenque, destined to defeat Ah Puch -- the evil god of the Underworld. The prophecy says two princes will restore peace in the One World, but Ixque is a princess, and Hunahpu needs a stick to walk. They can't be the ones to save the Middleworld, but everything changes when the queen is murdered and the prince is kidnapped.
