I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.
He's the fastest, fiercest driver around.
Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep...
but his smile sends me to my knees.
The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He's secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss....
This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I'm supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn't get into trouble. But it's an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation...or your curse.
He says he wants me. He says I'm the One. But he also thinks he'll break my heart, one piece at a time until it's gone.

Outstanding
From start to finish...***** 5 stars *****
This is a complete standalone and I didn't make the connection, with Remy, from Real, until I started reading. My passion for Katy Evan's words started in 2013. And let me say, she's blown me away with Racer. The bonding and romance are fierce and strong. Loyalty and desire tie Racer and Lana together. And their obsession for each other is pure, true and REAL. An absolute must read!
Racer!
When I heard there was going to be a book about Racer Tate I was super excited! I didn't know what to expect from Racer, but he's just like his dad. He's got the same all or nothing attitude and loves fiercely. He falls fast and he falls hard. And also like Remy, it was interesting being in his head. They rarely hold back and often do and say what they want. They're tough guys, but can also be complete softies, which is cute to see. I like that Racer does what he wants and races instead of fights. I liked that whole aspect of the book, it was really interesting especially for a NASCAR fan. He can definitely be a bit intense and hard to handle, but he's still very likeable. I wish there would have been even more Racer perspective chapters. Lana is a sweet girl who doesn't know what she's in for when she meets Racer. He's not what she's used to and definitely keeps her on her toes. She's good for him and he's good for her. They work well together. It's a very fast paced book with a lot happening in a short span of time. There were a few times where I felt things could have been explained a little better, and sooner, in terms of the past. There were also a few times towards the beginning that didn't flow as smoothly between the chapters. There were also times that I thought the wording sounded a bit off to me, but other than those couple of things I enjoyed Racer. It fits with the rest of the Real series. I enjoyed the few drop ins from those characters.
