Rae's adventures begin when she unknowingly shape-shifts while playing in a high school soccer game. The events that follow change the course of her life forever. Powers that she never knew she possessed are revealed to her by her father, who is a shaman, and Nate, a friend from the past. They lead her to the underworld, where she discovers other shape-shifters like herself. Rae becomes involved in a battle between good and evil with the upper world and the underworld, and she ultimately controls who will win in the end.
