Rainbows In Windows

I’m amazed that a book so appropriate for these times is already available! It couldn’t have been written soon enough—and so charmingly. As a mom of 2, including a pre-schooler, this is an excellent book that tackles a baffling situation for children and caregivers alike.

We are so thankful for this book! A great story and such a powerful message! Engaging, creative and interactive, this book has EVERYTHING my kids and I needed right now and they are having fun making new rainbows everyday. Making something positive out of all the negative, such a great message!

RIW is outstanding in so many ways. The approach it takes to explain our current situation is light, but in no way undermines the serioussness of the matter.
Amos’ mother speaks to him with patience, doesn’t candy coat or withhold anything. She gives him space and time to process it all. And then the Rainbows come!
The illustartions and rhyme and verse of RIW reminds me of the books and PBS television shows I grew up with, which challenged me and even scared me a little, but in a curious, mind expanding way. They had a big impact on who I am and what I do. I’m sure RIW will do the same for the kids of this generation. It is a delightful plate of throwback comfort food for this big kid from the 80’s and much needed at this uncertain time. Thanks Yumi!
