Randolph Elementary: A Journey School

Randolph Elementary is a Pre-K through 5th grade public School in Goochland, Virginia.  We are the largest of the three elementary schools in our division, with an enrollment of 480 students (four or five classrooms per grade level).   We are the first Journey School, and we encourage you to watch the video on the next page or visit www.journeyschools.org, to learn more.  We are also an Apple 1:1 school with personalized devices for first through fifth grade (they go home with third, fourth, and fifth grade students).  This allows for curriculum personalization and deeper student exploration and creation. Teachers and students use iPad devices for creating books, videos, reflecting on pictures taken during gallery walks, doing research, and sharing their message with the community. With iPad devices, they communicate with FaceTime penpals, produce videos to raise social awareness, find images to support literacy, and much more. Projects are richer with such tools.
