Gordy has a problem. His girlfriend, Poppy Nicole, wants to meet him in REALITY.

Poppy just knows that if she and Gordy meet in REALITY, and better yet, have sex in REALITY, on her show, it's sure to boost her rating. But the prospect makes Gordy so nervous he fails to heed the warning signs of a worldwide economic collapse (caused by a bubble in imaginary toothpaste sales). Very Funny, Very Smart
This is a science fiction book, but it's really a social satire about superficial relationships in the the era of the internet, artificial lifestyles, artificial intelligence, plus it has a worldwide economic collapse brought about by a very human robotic toothbrush. It's very funny - especially the Rejectionists, a society of nonconformists who reject digital music among other things, but argue about whether CD's are acceptable or should they only listen to vinyl.
