Henry Kingsley (2 January 1830 – 24 May 1876) was an English writer and novelist. He studied at Oxford, thanks to his brother, was intimately acquainted with some of the leading writers of England at that time. In 1853 he moved to Australia for personal independence. On the based of Australian impressions, he describe the exotic to the English reader the life of new settlements, wildlife, forest fires, and so on. N. Novel "Memories Geoffrey Hamlin" (Eng. «Recollections of Geoffrey Hamlyn», 1859) and «Ravenshoe» (1861), published Kingsley since his return to England in 1858 and attracted the attention of critics. During his life, he wrote many works that remain popular today.
This book tells the story of House of Ravenshoe, but rather a man named Denzel Ravenshoe and his son Charles. On these pages, was described the sad fate of the main characters and challenges that await them on the path of life. This is one of the best creations of the author, and so it might be interesting to all readers.
