Christianity - not pretty but powerful

These poems became like daily devotionals for me. Though many of the poets are gay, I can relate to their frustrations with the church, their experiences of loss and their desire to keep faith alive when it seems like the world has turned against them. It's like a tightrope walk, one of the poets says - in which we all have to find a "new way to move" or risk falling. I wish more Christians could grasp these insights. I wish more humans had as strong a grasp of the power of love as these poets do. Two-time Grammy nominated "Gay person of faith" Jennifer Knapp wrote the foreword. the whole book is so very intimate and thoughtful. It's a must read. There's a free book excerpt online at the publisher's website --- nuwinepress (dot) com. This is their first book . An amazing start!
